Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, sterile, single use needles into precise acupuncture points on the skin to aid in the stimulation and smooth flow of energy (Qi). This encourages the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) relies on herbal therapies both for the treatment of illness and in the optimization of health and prevention of disease.

Scenar is a fast acting, natural, pain relief device that delivers non-invasive electrical stimulation through the skin to trigger the body's own healing process. Often called “Needle-less Acupuncture”.

Indigenous Medicine uses the health practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs incorporating First Nations healing and wellness while using ceremonies; plant, animal or mineral-based medicines; energetic therapies; or physical/hands on techniques.

According to Indigenous beliefs all life; human, animal, plant and mineral are part of one vast network of relationships in which we are all vitally connected to one another. The traditional Indigenous model of illness causation emphasizes social and spiritual dysfunction as a cause of illness. Indigenous medicine also seeks to provide a meaningful explanation for illness and to respond to the personal, family and community issues surrounding illness. Traditional medicine explains not only the “how” but also the “why” of sickness.

The Aboriginal approach to health care is a holistic one. It recognizes the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual dimensions of health and life. This concept of health is in many ways close to the World Health Organization’s definition of health, ‘a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’.

Jessica uses her Indigenous Medicine skills to work together with patients empowering them to take responsibility for their own health and wellness while supporting them on their journey to radiant health. Sessions consist of an intake conversation, general energetic clean up, and healing intervention guided by spirit allies.

Osteopathic medicine was developed during the 19th century in the United States by a physician who was dissatisfied with the approach to medical diagnosis and treatments of the time. Osteopathic medicine provides all of the benefits of modern medicine, including prescription drugs, surgery and the use of technology to diagnose disease and evaluate injury. Diagnosis is also obtained through hands on palpation, and treatment rendered through soft tissue and boney manipulation. This is referred to as osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT). There are many instances when even the most sensitive of imaging devices will not be able to detect what trained hands and a skilled osteopathic practitioner can offer. For the patient, the osteopathic approach offers a combination of medical and manipulative care, with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention. Dr Andrews uses OMT to improve alignment, increase range of motion and normalize tissues that are injured, inflamed and painful.

***Please click on Elisa's picture at the right for information on how to book an appointment and to read her biography.*** Transpersonal Hypnotherapy allows you to access your deeper wisdom to resolve challenging issues at their core. It is gentle, soothing and rapidly effective to access and change patterns that govern our lives. It is a powerful transformative healing modality that uses the power of the subconscious brain. By working with the subconscious we are able to access the root of the issue, transforming beliefs, feelings and behaviours that no longer serve the person. Old patterns are effectively shifted and released so that it is easier to move forward.

Gretchen Andrews MD trained at the University of New Mexico and came to Canada in 2013. While in medical school Dr. Andrews discovered osteopathy when she was recovering from an injury and has been dedicated to the study of human structure and function ever since. She believes it is a wonderful compliment to primary care and has integrated it into a general medical practice. Dr. Andrews is quite pleased to be a part of the group of holistically minded practitioners at Solis Integrative Health Centre.

As part of the Solis Integrative Health Centre team Dr. Andrews hopes to offer you tools that will enable you to reach your hopes and dreams and live a transformed life.
